Stand up for Autism ‘I AM’

Autism affects the whole family, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

It is estimated that 6 millions families are affected by autism in the UK alone. Autism-in-Mind is ‘Standing up for Autism’ Will you stand up with us?

We are not standing up to cure autism or to change autistic people in any way we simply want a better deal for everyone who is living with autism. If you are happy to ‘Stand up for Autism’ so that we can all raise awareness together please join us on Facebook

Our AIM Sunderland Dad’s 'pictured here' stood up for autism this is why they did so.

‘Some people try to normalise a child who has a hidden disability and that just adds to the problem as far as the child is concerned’ John Burnell

Derek Coates stood up ‘For all of the Dads out there who have daughters with autism’

Bob Barber stood up for autism ‘Because he wanted people to understand that autistic children grow up and become autistic adults’

‘Part of the problem with autism is that we still know so little about it. We all too often treat a symptom without knowing the cause’ Terry Rutherford

‘When a child with autism exhibits good language skills people often assume that they could not possibly be autistic’ Gregg Jamieson.

The Autism Community is made up of millions of people world wide if we all Stand up for Autism together and say ‘I AM’ with ‘One Voice’ we have more chance of being heard.

AIM Sunderland’s Autism Dads proudly stood up for Autism to mark World Autism Awareness Day April 2nd 2010.
